Older smoke alarms that have accumulated a lot of dust and dirt in and around the sensor can become less sensitive. You should test your smoke alarms monthly and re install them every ten years to keep your home and family safe. If your smoke alarms do not work well during a test you might be able to fix the problem by purchasing new smoke alarms.
